Retreat.
Especially on days like today, it’s very easy to believe that the world may be reforming in exactly the ways we want it to…
And maybe how we need it to as well.
And, every day can be “today”. This particular day just happened to be exceptionally, obviously, beauty-filled.
But they aren’t always, are they?
No, of course not. Believe you me, I know it first hand. Some days it really takes some Ted Lasso style maneuvering, to… well… “do the day.”
But damn. Some days, the beauty is freakin-undeniable.
And that’s just it. Newness. Process. Continuity. Unpredictability.
One of our 6 foundational principles for our somatic education model is Continuity. It’s a tough thing to remember, especially in this “heady” culture, but we kind of always need to be open to something changing.
Open to EVERYTHING changing? No, of course not, but that’s the game. When to be open and when “to be closed”? Or, when to be “open” to “being closed”?
Remember, “Absolutes are always bad”, right? 😉
There’s a lot of relearning taking place, needles to say, and, it seems totally possible that there’s a lot happening which is truly supportive of what we both want, and need.
Maybe. Hopefully. Again, this doesn’t mean let’s all be Pollyanna, it just means that it may be possible that there’s also always something GOOD at play. Something beautiful.
Anyway, on that note, if you’re still reading, we’re putting together a little event on October 17th. For now, it’s gonna just be a “men’s retreat.” Needless to say, if you’re interested let us know.
There will be a cost, and, most of the proceeds will go to a local food bank and/or charity.
The day will include quite a variety of activities. Movement, of course, and ice, and lots of discussion, and good food ( hopefully @nourishbymama ) and a cacao ceremony.
We’re aiming for just 12 people.
Let us know if you’re interested. 😁
