An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to make heat. This type of sauna is sometimes called a far-infrared sauna; "Far" describing where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. A “regular”, or DRY sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body.
When you sit in an infrared sauna, your body is warmed directly by the heat from the infrared lamps that use electromagnetic radiation. Dry saunas, on the other hand, heat the air around you.A dry sauna and an infrared sauna both heat your body, but that may be where the similarities end.
Infrared saunas also operate at a much lower temperature, usually between 120˚F (48.9°C) and 140˚F (60°C), and you can stay in them longer than dry saunas, with 20 minutes being the average time.
We prefer and recommend a dry sauna experience.

COLD WATER IMMERSION
Ice Bathing at KORU
Have you ever wondered why we love the ice so much? There are so many tools available to us, and some of them seem admittedly to be a bit gimmicky. What makes ice different, though? Why does it matter.
Mostly, it’s about REALITY. Depending on where you live, it gets cold. Regardless of where you live, you know you want to be able to handle the cold. Sure, there are parkas galore, but at what cost do we overly depend on fancy jackets, and, well, to be frank, fossil fuels?
Needless to say, it’s not insignificant.
That’s the big picture story, for sure. “Stressors” are GOOD, and we need to be careful not to avoid them too much, lest we become more easily, yes, stressed.
Google ice baths and you’ll read all about this and more. It’s valid stuff for sure, BUT, here’s what you won’t read:
THE ICE IS FUN!!! It’s so freakin’ fun.
Seriously. If you want the most efficient tool for self-awareness and mental clarity, with over 12 years of personal exploration (and centuries of research to back us up), we can say with certainty that the ice is the MOST effective option available. Hands down.
Yes, there are other tricks, and they are all valuable, but the ice continues to win. Pair it with some delicious movement and gorgeous music, and you’ve got yourself a damn good time.
Heck, it can even become your next date night, or simply a family hang out! Why not?
