This one-day workshop will prepare you to bring a sense of lightness and possibility to even the most challenging times so that you can stay well-nourished as you help your community thrive. Through experiential group activities and body movement, you’ll learn how to engage with your life as a changemaker in a way that supports you and others to stay effective and well-nourished for the long haul.

Bollywood Dance Series

September 10-October 15, 2019 ~ Tuesday: 6:00pm-7:00pm

Join us at KORU Real Wellness for 6 weeks of movement and fun through dance! In this session, you will learn basic dance moves in the styles of Bhangra, Folk, Hip Hop and Kathak, working up to a full routine (or two!). We will be dancing to new/upbeat songs and classic songs from Bollywood movie soundtracks and Indian music artists. A guaranteed work out for the mind and body. UN-locking OM Kirtan Workshop

We welcome Ananda and Sri all the way from Denver, CO for a special Kirtan workshop, “UN-locking OM”. Sanskrit possesses rich and powerful meaning within each syllable, and of all Sanskrit words, Om is probably the most popular. Join us for this interactive journey through consciousness into the very sound that acts as the ‘seed’ for the universe. Sound carries consciousness, and our consciousness shapes our reality. When we uplift our consciousness, we change the world. Vegan and gluten free refreshments will be provided for participants.

Introduction to Qi Gong and Tai Chi

September 21-October 26, 2019 ~ Saturday: 9:30am-10:30am

Instructors: Diane Alex, Kate Kane (alternating)

Join us for a new weekend Qi Gong/ Tai Chi class!This series will focus on an easy-to-learn Tai Chi form. We will start each class with Qi Gong warm-ups and stretches. Then we will practice a shortened traditional Tai Chi form, using classic movements to teach basic Tai Chi principles. Each class will end will Qi Gong flows, often called moving meditations.

Participants will end the session having practiced routines that can be easily done at home, as well as providing a foundation for future learning.

Health benefits of Tai Chi and Qi Gong include less stress and more energy, improved balance, and a greater sense of health and well-being.

Singing Bowl Relaxation Concert

September 28, 2019 ~ Saturday: 6:00-7:00pm

Join Kaitlyn Johnston for a deeply immersive and meditative sound experience with Himalayan singing bowls. Himalayan singing bowls have been known to reduce stress and anxiety, ease depression, improve quality of sleep, reduce chronic pain, and encourage relaxation of the body and mind.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course

October 8 – November 26, 2019 ~Tuesdays: 6:30-9:00pm

This is the classic 8-week Foundations course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and offered worldwide at hospitals, prisons, schools, and anywhere people want to learn to free themselves of toxic stress and wake up to their innate potential for calm and personal power.
